Bath Cats and Dogs Home

Since 1937, Bath Cats and Dogs Home has been at the heart of the local community, providing vital care and rehoming services for approximately 800 animals each year. To continue delivering the highest standards of animal welfare, the charity identified the need for a significant refurbishment of its facilities in Claverton Down, Bath.
Originally built in 2000, the main building required essential upgrades to ensure it remained fit for purpose. The renovation project included a full refurbishment of the Veterinary Suite, replacement of the main building’s roof, and a reconfiguration of office space to create dedicated, private adoption and handover rooms.
The upgraded Veterinary Suite now features separate recovery areas for cats and dogs, providing a calm and secure environment for post-operative care. This enhancement reduces stress and promotes faster recovery. Meanwhile, the new adoption and handover spaces provide a private and compassionate setting—offering comfort to pet owners during the difficult handover process, while also giving prospective pet owners a quiet, enclosed space to meet their future companions.
MEA Clark previously collaborated with Bath Cats and Dogs Home on its kennel expansion project in 2018 and is proud to have supported this latest transformation—delivering a modern, functional environment for both animals and staff.
