Michael Edwards Consultants Ltd trading as MEA, and MEA Building Surveying Ltd are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. We may collect the following personal information from you when you engage with us in relation to our construction consultancy services:

What we do with the information we hold about you
The personal data we hold about you could include information you gave us when you:
- Requested a quote for a project
- Commissioned a project
- Supplied information during the course of a project

- Filled in a form
We hold this personal data for the purpose of understanding your needs and enabling us to contact you to carry out any business with you or because we have previously worked with you. The primary legal basis that we intend to use for the processing of your data is for the performance of our contract with you and is essential for us to be able to carry out our services effectively.
Sharing information
This information is not shared with any third parties without your consent or unless it is required to fulfil a contract that we have with you or your business, or it is legally required in order to carry out business. We will keep the information about you confidential and will only disclose your information with other third parties with your consent, with exception of:
- Statutory government bodies in order to comply with any regulatory issues and disclosures

- Loss assessors
- Any contractors or consultants that provide a service to us in relation to your project on the understanding that they keep the information confidential
- Anyone that we may transfer our rights and duties under any agreement we have with you
How long we keep the information about you
We keep the information for as long as we need it in order to manage and administer your project and handle any insurance claims or request for assistance made by our insurers, or take into account our need to meet any legal, statutory and regulatory obligations. Our need to store your personal data will be reassessed regularly and information no longer required will be disposed of.
Access to your information
You have a right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date, you may ask us to correct or remove information which is inaccurate.
You have the legal right to have all personal data removed from our records. Please contact us if you wish to remove consent and have all of your personal data removed.
We will arrange to supply or remove the information within 28 days of receiving your request.

We reserve to right to amend this policy at any time. We suggest you review this policy from time to time to ensure you are aware of any changes. However, we will not significantly change how we use the information you have already provided to us without your prior agreement.
