MEA is thrilled to have been appointed for an exciting new project in central Bath, just a few minutes walk from our Bath office in Beehive Yard. Our client, Singapore-based Fragrance Group, plans to convert the former 18th Century Royal Mineral Water Hospital into a luxury hotel.
The Royal Mineral Water Hospital, known locally as ‘The Min,’ is a Grade II* Listed building most recently used as the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases until it eventually closed in 2019, with a new modern facility being created at the Royal United Hospital. The Min is attributed to John Wood, the Elder and had been in continuous use as a hospital since 1742.
MEA has been appointed as both Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor for the project. We are looking forward to working with the client and the design team which comprises Aaron Evans Architects, Hydrock now Stantec, Anderson Parslow, Planning Sphere and Greenhalgh Landscape Architecture.
The first phase of construction is planned to start during 2025.
