This year, instead of sending traditional Christmas cards, MEA has chosen to do something a little more meaningful. In the spirit of the season, we are proudly supporting two incredible charities: Bath Cats & Dogs Home and Shelter UK.
The festive period is about kindness, compassion and community, and for us it felt right to turn our Christmas gestures into action that makes a genuine difference to those who need it most.
Bath Cats & Dogs Home: Caring for Animals When They Need It Most
Bath Cats & Dogs Home has been providing care, shelter and hope to vulnerable animals for a very long time. The charity rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes cats, dogs and small animals who have been abandoned, neglected or whose owners can no longer care for them.
Beyond finding new homes, the team ensures every animal receives the veterinary care, behavioural support and compassion they need to recover and thrive. The charity also works proactively to prevent animals from becoming homeless, supporting local communities through education, outreach and practical assistance to keep pets and their owners together whenever possible.
MEA is especially proud of its ongoing relationship with Bath Cats & Dogs Home as we took home the Civic and Community Award at the Bath Property Awards 2025 for our involvement in the Bath Cats and Dogs Home redevelopment, a project that exemplifies how thoughtful design and construction can positively impact local communities. The scheme was celebrated for its innovation, sustainability, and the way it enhances facilities for both people and animals.
Shelter UK: Standing Up for the Right to a Safe Home
Shelter UK is a leading housing and homelessness charity, dedicated to defending the right of everyone to have a safe, secure and affordable place to call home.
The charity supports individuals and families facing homelessness through practical advice, emergency support and legal advocacy, while also campaigning for long term changes to housing policy. From helping someone challenge an unlawful eviction to influencing national legislation, Shelter works at both an individual and systemic level to address the causes of homelessness.
At a time of year when home means so much, Shelter’s work is more vital than ever.
