Dating back to 1923, Stowe School opened with its first 99 pupils in the western part of the mansion. This prestigious school now has an intake of 844 students. The last 15 years has seen a vast building programme to enhance the academic life of the School and support the increased pupil numbers.
During this time, MEA has partnered with Stowe School on various projects to restore, enhance and increase their facilities. Projects have included the construction of new student accommodation blocks, new classroom blocks and associated improvements to numerous existing school buildings and the wider estate including: works to Grade I listed buildings, sports facilities, and parkland.
Our latest project at Stowe School involved the restoration of Stowe Menagerie, the roof required major repairs, including the dome to preserve the rest of the building. This building now forms the school shop. MEA are currently working with Stowe School to complete their new Design, Technology and Engineering teaching block.
