Previously a neglected Stothert and Pitt crane factory dating back to the 1860s, this Grade II listed property has undergone a multimillion-pound renovation and refurbishment.
The extensive restoration work encompassed substantial repairs to the building’s internal and external fabric, roof, installation of all new windows, internal space modifications, and a complete Cat-B fit-out in readiness for occupancy. The outcome is truly remarkable, a rejuvenated space with a cool, industrial aesthetic on the riverside district of Bath Quay, offering 40,000 square feet of adaptable office space suitable for small and medium-sized creative enterprises.
Newark Works is now a creative hub offering an inspiring place to work with various office areas ranging from 240-5000 sq. ft. across four inter-connected buildings. Complete with flexible meeting zones, breakout areas, a large, versatile event space with café and bakery, a cycle store and shower facilities.
Working as Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager, MEA delivered the cost planning, tendering, contract administration, time planning, team co-ordination, onsite valuations, and final account agreements for this project.
Since its completion, Newark Works has received recognition from 2022 Bath Property Awards, receiving the title of Commercial Development of the Year 2022.
