Branded by our client as ‘Covent Garden’s newest shopping and dining destination’, this prestigious mixed-use development situated in the heart of central London, St Martin’s Courtyard, was completed at the end of 2011.
This complex project was delivered in multiple phases, delivering 33 premium residential apartments, 25 retail units spanning 70,000 square feet, bars and restaurants covering 30,000 square feet, and 70,000 square feet of Category B office space fitted out to the highest standards. Additionally, a brand-new public courtyard was created, around which the development was constructed, comprising a number of adjoining new-build, refurbished and extended buildings in contrasting architectural styles.
As with any development of this size, nature and location, there were particular project complexities relating to phasing, existing occupants, archaeology and statutory authorities.
Working as joint Quantity Surveyors across multiple project phases, MEA and Hother Associates delivered the cost planning, tendering, onsite valuations as well as agreed final account.
Since completion, St Martins courtyard has been recognised by the Surface Design Awards 2023, winning the Highly Commended award for the best light and surface exterior design.
