We were delighted to have been the lead consultant for a £25m project to replace St John’s School in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
Being almost entirely self-funded, this large-scale education project is unique. The 12,500m2 school buildings for 1,500 students included over 6,000m2 of sedum roof and was constructed within a live education environment.
In collaboration with St John’s, MEA has now established a new business venture, Building Schools for Nothing (BSfN). We are already working with schools in the Home Counties and the West Country advising on and exploring opportunities for self-funding or partial redevelopments of the existing school buildings.
